Widow Fog Starting to Clear

When this journey began for me over four years ago, I swore it would take me less time than the average person to sort through my grief and get on with life. Oh, how wrong I was!

I became cognizant only a few months ago that suddenly I was able to run more than one errand in a day. I could plan things and take care of business. My house is cleaner now than it's been in many months, not that I've ever been up for clean house of the year, lol. After selling Scott's business last year, I was toppled by the emotions. Relieved, but soooo emotional. That is finally passing and I'm very glad.

Scott and I always joked about the "Mom Book" and the "Dad Book" and the various tasks included in those books. The Dad Book was full of yard work, house repair, vehicle stuff. All of those Dad Book tasks have become mine and this summer I was finally able to make them happen. Four years later....

I'm shaking my head and chuckling a little bit at myself for my oath of strength and the minimal time I thought it would take me ride the waves of my own grief journey. Now I know that it will probably be a 'rest of my life' kind of thing.

Can anyone else who has lost someone special in your life agree with this? And can anyone relate to the exhaustion of trying to be fine all the time? We should all get an Oscar! I write all this schmush in an effort to try and give others a glimmer of hope.

As always, thanks for reading my ramblings. Lol, Facebook nudged me a few days ago and said I hadn't been posting enough, so there ya go!

So well said. I definitely relate to “the exhaustion of trying to be fine all the time”. I’ve watched your Mom Book fill up in the last months and you’ve done a stellar job💫
