Dear Big Scott,

It's been a loooonnggg summer. All the things you did, made happen magically behind the scenes, are now my job. And I suck at it. Fences and roofs, falling limbs, pool repairs, leaky faucets - to say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. Paul and Mark have filled in for you. I don't know what I'd do without them. Blessings amid messes.

It's all finally coming together, but what a haul. By summer's end, it will be like living in a new house. And you would love every change that has been made. Lord, I wish you were here to enjoy it with me. Who am I kidding? I wish you were here to handle it! All of it!

Somehow, I thought maybe I'd be done missing you by now. It's becoming clear to me that will never happen. Some days are heavy, others, not so much. I think you'd be proud of me for getting shit done. Not loving it but getting it done!

I'm working on my 4th novel. Man, I'm GOING to get published! I'll plug away with it until it happens! I can feel you cheering me on! I've moved from writing about grief to crime drama - and it's fun! I think you'd be proud and be my biggest cheerleader.

I love you every day and I miss you every day.

Mary Lou
