BIO
I've always been a writer. From the emotional musings of a teenager to now, the emotional musings of a widow. My goal is traditional publication. Lofty, yes, but I think if you believe in yourself, you can do just about anything.

I found Writing Away Refuge on the web in 2022 after my husband's death. I took a leap and went to their retreat and changed my life.
​
Through Writing Away, I have learned about "The Biz" and met many wonderful friends and mentors.
Since then, I've completed three women's lit, general fiction novels and countless short stories. Still waiting for my needle to be found in the haystack that is agents and publishing houses.
​
I love to read women's lit, crime and mystery. My two all-time favorites are Little Women, Louisa May Alcott and Storyteller, Jodi Picoult.
​

Searching For Distraction

She finds a letter in an old Bible which takes her and friend, Theresa, Leona, and Amelia on a journey into the mysticism of the Ozark Mountains. Through this journey, Anna Kate discovers her own mystical gift. She is frustrated by the revealing of her gift of healing after her husband died. She agonizes over the possibility that she could have saved her husband if she'd known.

The four friends encounter mystery, evil, and the deepening of their friendship. Through each step, they are there for Anna Kate with unwavering support and love.
Anna Kate's spiritual and emotional growth guide her way through her crushing grief to a new reality; one she comes to accept and embrace.
