Trying my hand at short stories

I recently discovered Reedsy, a website that has a million writing prompts for contests. I've never been brave enough to enter a contest, but I figure at this point, what have I got to lose?

My writing is so directed by my grief journey. I don't know if this little story will catch anyone's eye, but it definitely encompasses some of the things that whirl through my head and body.

Give it a read, if you are so inclined. And I'd love to hear your thoughts through the comments either here or on the Reedsy page.

Life is good, folks. Life brings us so many unpredicted and unwanted situations that it can take your breath away. But there are beautiful things happening every moment of every day. I'm working hard to find the beauty and I hope you are, too.

As always, thanks for reading my ramblings. Hugs and love!!

I've been taking a class on Flash Fiction - the art of writing mini-stories that pack a punch. I'd like to share my most recent attempt....

I loved it! I thought of Dragnet, “the names have been changed to protect the innocent.” For those who have been privileged enough to walk along side you, this story encompasses your (Macy) emotions so perfectly. The return to work, the triggers, the uneasiness of seeing people. Well done, my friend!
